Production of Concerts
Every member of the Oratorio Society is encouraged to help in some way to produce our concerts. You may support our efforts in these ways:
- Selling tickets to fill the house (see * below)
- Helping to recruit new singers to increase our ranks
- Making gifts and financial contributions over and above payment of Dues
- Providing food and beverages for rehearsal breaks periodically and for events associated with concert weekends
- Suggesting ideas to your Section Leader or members of the Board of Directors to improve the Society
The Board of Directors also welcomes singers’ contributions of time, talent, and
resources, especially as performance weekends approach. Let the president, a
Board member, or your section leader know of your interest.
Above all, please remember: the Society is grateful for your voice, your knowledge and
love of music, and your commitment to performing excellence.
* Selling Tickets
As well as tickets being sold online, at Plan 9 in Albemarle Square, or through the venue's box office, we build our audience with friends. So that we can know how ticket sales are progressing, we ask that you follow these guidelines for selling tickets to your acquaintances:
- Each vocal section has a Ticket Goddess who handles orders. Find out who is in charge of your section.
- Complete a Ticket Form under your name and list the number of each type of ticket, and total cost.
- Turn in your request form with payment for each ticket.
- Your Ticket Goddess will have tickets for you at the next rehearsal in the number listed.
The week of the concert, tickets may be reserved and held at the door if requested. To do so, the individual may call the Oratorio Society's phone number (434-295-4385) and give a MasterCard or VISA number to which the sale may be charged.
